My Brooklyn 2017 AFROPUNK Experience

I'm still on a high from Afropunk Brooklyn 2017. I went to Afropunk with my longtime friend and blogger, Olayinka. (You can check out her Afropunk experience here). The festival was a free spirited 2-day festival filled with good vibes, great food and dope music! But we can't forget about the fashion. Check out my day 1 look that actually the made Cosmopolitan's style blog here (#42) :

What is AFROPUNK? Afropunk started as a movement after a documentary in 2003. From the hand shot footage birthed the first Afro Punk music festival in 2005. It aimed to highlight black musicians and artists with a festival dedicated to skating culture, Punk, rap and alternative music. This year 60,000 attendees flooded Commodore Park for this beautiful experience.

DAY 2
Day 2 was an extra special because I met a legend! Mr. Spike Lee himself.

Some FASCHINN finds:
The park was packed with delicious local food and drinks!
My first Afropunk experience was epic! I met so many amazing artists, entrepreneurs, and beautiful souls. Yinka and I had VIP passes which allowed us special access to VIP stages at each stage. This came in handy when the popular artists such as SZA and Solange took the stage. SZA was by far my favorite performance. Maybe that's because I've been playing her latest album "Ctrl" on repeat for the entire summer.
This is the first of many Afropunk experiences to come!
